ANU MBBCh, 5-year Program is structured based on the six competency areas required by the Egyptian National Academic Reference Standards NARS 2017-Medicine; in which ANU program aspires to graduate a physician who would be able to meet the criteria of being a scholar and a scientist, health care provider, using advanced skills professionally, health promoter, member of the health team and a part of the health care system. In addition, he must be lifelong learner and researcher using evidence-based means in applying the most efficient information, skills, values, and guiding rules in medical practice. Moreover he must share in research team and publications, taking into account medical behavior and the rights of patients with the most efficient and optimal use of available resources.
